How saline removal works

A saline solution is tattooed over the unwanted pigment. As the area heals, the solution draws pigment upward and out of the skin with the healing process — a technique called osmosis-based or saline lightening. Each session lifts a portion of the pigment; how many sessions your piece needs depends on the pigment, its depth and age, and how your skin responds.

Saline removal is used on unwanted permanent makeup — old microblading, brow tattoos, and similar cosmetic work — and on small body tattoos.

Saline vs laser — and what we offer

Laser removal shatters pigment with light so the body clears it; saline lifts pigment out through the skin's surface as it heals. Saline is commonly preferred for cosmetic tattoos because brow and face pigments can react unpredictably to laser, and because it works on pigment colors laser can struggle with.

To be plain about it: Pink Ink offers saline removal only — laser tattoo removal is not offered here. If your piece is better suited to laser, Fawn will tell you so rather than sell you sessions.

What to expect from the process

Removal is gradual by design — plan on multiple sessions spaced out so skin fully heals between them, and on lightening rather than instant erasure. Sometimes the goal is not full removal at all, but lifting old work enough that fresh work can be done over it well.

Pricing depends on the piece and is confirmed in the booking system — ask at booking. Aftercare for the treated area is provided at your appointment.
